The Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (RIDE) is the state agency responsible for promoting great teaching and learning in Rhode Island schools. We support programs and efforts that help teachers teach and help students learn, in order to prepare every student for success in college, careers, and life. We put the student at the center of everything we do, empowering them to take ownership of their education journey. We also address systemic inequities to help ensure that race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or unique learning needs do not become barriers to opportunities and success for our students, as well as their families and communities.
