RISE Prep opened at One Social Street, Woonsocket in September 2015 with its founding kindergarten class of 47 scholars. It will subsequently grow one grade each year until reaching grade 8. For School Year 2019-20, RISE Prep serves 280 scholars in kindergarten through fourth grade. In 2019, RISE Prep purchased and renovated 30 Cumberland Street in Woonsocket.

As a college-preparatory elementary and middle school, RISE Prep offers an extended day and focuses on the three C’s: College, Character,and Community. Beginning in kindergarten, RISE Prep fosters a joyful and structured learning environment that celebrates college-bound scholars, the RISE Core Values (Respect, Integrity, Self-Determination, Excellence), and teaches scholars how to give back to their communities.

As a racially and socioeconomically diverse public charter school, RISE Prep’s mission is to provide every K-8 scholar, regardless of their beginning academic level, with high expectations, rigorous curriculum, structure, and character education.
